Andrew Brayshaw feels he’s seen positive results from his pre-season aims to be fitter and stronger for the 2020 season, and the Purple Army has noticed.

Any photos or footage of the 20-year-old midfielder posted on Fremantle’s socials this pre-season have been littered with comments on his physique.

In last week’s edition of fremantlefc.com.au's Pre-Season Show, Brayshaw was asked if bulking up was a pre-season goal and if he’d seen the comments from the Freo fans.

“Everyone has their own focuses going into the year and mine every year is to get bigger and stronger,” Brayshaw said.

“Going into my third pre-season now, I feel I have really good fundamentals in the gym and now I’m starting to build on that.

“I do feel stronger and feel like I can hold my weight in the midfield a bit more now.

“So I appreciate the comments guys, thank you.”

The 2017 no.2 draft pick showed his capabilities in Freo’s round 19 clash against the Western Bulldogs last season, kicking three goals and racking up 26 disposals.

Brayshaw hopes an injury-free pre-season will boost his prospects in 2020.

“This is my first pre-season that hasn’t been interrupted at all,” Brayshaw said.

“In my first year I strained my quad, in my second year I was coming back from a broken jaw.

“Touch wood, this year I haven’t had any injuries.

“I’m feeling really fit, really strong and I know the game plan pretty well, so I’m feeling really confident going into this year.”

Brayshaw said the group was working well under new coach Justin Longmuir.

“It’s been a big change since having Justin in but the boys have really adapted well and Justin has earned the respect of all the players,” Brayshaw said.

“We’re gelling really well as a group and I’m really excited to see how we go this year.”
