FREMANTLE midfielder David Mundy believes his side owes Adelaide some payback after the Crows knocked the Dockers out of last year's finals series.

Fremantle was winless in all three encounters against Adelaide last season, and the Dockers are keen to exact some revenge on Saturday afternoon at AAMI Stadium.

"We really owe Adelaide a little bit; they’ve had the wood over us recently," Mundy said on Tuesday.

"All the games were a little bit different in terms of how they got over us, but in all the games we just lapsed for 10 or 15 minutes, and that’s all it takes against a really good side.

"We’ll be going over there to put in a good four-quarter performance."

Mundy believes lapses in concentration have also plagued the Dockers this year.

After leading Melbourne by 71 points at half time last Sunday, Fremantle lost the third term to the Demons, conceding three goals to two.

"It’s been something that’s mentioned throughout the year," Mundy said.

"I think we’ve played only one consistent four-quarter game this year, and that’s something we’re continually trying to improve on."

The Dockers know a similar lull has the potential to cost them dearly against the Crows, who came from 30 points down 15 minutes into the last quarter to stun North Melbourne last Sunday.

"Obviously they’ve got some powerful, explosive players in there," Mundy said of Adelaide.

"We’re going to have to be a really tight midfield group to get across the line there. It’s been those 10-minute lapses in concentration and effort that have really cost the team.

"That will be our major focus."

Fremantle are hoping to regain the services of Stephen Hill, who has not played since round five due to a quad injury, but Mundy felt Fremantle captain Matthew Pavlich was still a week or two away from returning.

With the bye looming following the clash with Adelaide, the Dockers are not going to take any chances.

"I think Ross (Lyon) has stated there'll be a no-risk policy with both those guys," Mundy said.

"We've done well without them so far, so there's no need to rush them back."

With six wins and a draw from its opening nine matches, Fremantle is in the top four after nine rounds for the first time since 2010, a season where it eventually finished sixth and lost to Geelong in a semi-final.

The Dockers have only finished in the top four once in their history (2006), but Mundy said his teammates have not given the opportunity to earn a double chance in the finals a thought.

"It's not something that really gets discussed heavily," Mundy said.

"We come in on days like today and we discuss the third quarter, more often than not, from the weekend.

"We don't get carried away with results or ladder positions or anything like that."
