The annual Starlight Purple Haze Game, proudly supported by Fremantle Ports, will kick off the 2009 season when Fremantle takes on the Western Bulldogs at Subiaco Oval in Round 1.

Heading into its seventh year, the Starlight Purple Haze Game has raised almost $190,000 for the Starlight Children’s Foundation with last year’s game setting a new record of $40,621.30 raised at the game.

This year we are asking for your help to raise additional funds by holding your own ‘Purple Haze Party’ with your friends, at your workplace, at your community group or at your school on Friday 20 March.

This is your chance to show your support for the Fremantle Football Club as they prepare for the 2009 season and help Starlight raise funds to brighten the lives of seriously ill and hospitalised children in WA. Register for your ‘Purple Haze Party’ today at purplehazeparty@fremantlefc.com.au.

There are so many different and creative ways to hold a ‘Purple Haze Party’. No party is too small and every dollar raised will help Starlight make a difference.

Your event can be anything from a dress purple day, to a purple themed morning tea. Put some fun into fundraising whether you host a party at home, at work or at school.

Here are some ideas to help you plan your ‘Purple Haze Party’.

Purple Haze Party - Purple Morning Tea

A great way to break up a busy day is by hosting a morning tea or afternoon tea. Students/staff could bring-a-plate of homemade treats, or decorate cakes and cup cakes with purple icing. Go crazy with purple…purple table cloths, plates etc. Haze your business or school with purple balloons, streamers, posters. It can be especially effective to combat 3pm-itis.

Purple Haze Party – Best Dressed Competition

Hold a ‘Purple Haze Party’ and ask kids or colleagues to dress up in purple. They could do dress as The Phantom, Barney, a purple fairy or just wear something purple and ask students them to donate a gold coin.

Purple Haze Party - BBQ

Hold a BBQ at work and charge a donation entry fee or charge a donation for the sausage sizzle. Why not get the senior management to serve the staff for a bit of fun?

Purple Haze Party - Guessing Competition

They’re simple to run and an easy fundraiser at work or school. Fill a jar with purple jelly beans, Cadbury dairy milk bites – whatever takes your imagination and charge $5 per guess.

Purple Haze Party - Wine Tasting

Are you a connoisseur of fine wines or would you like to be one? Spend an evening tasting Australia’s best wines with your work colleagues and charge them an entry fee for the wine tasting and nibblies.

Purple Haze Party - Happy Hour

There is no better time to socialise with colleagues than catching up after work to unwind from a busy week. How about turning Friday night drinks into a ‘Purple Haze Party’? You could even have themed cocktails and charge a donation on entry.

Whatever type of event you hold on Friday 20 March, we hope it is a lot of fun and a huge success. Register today at purplehazeparty@fremantlefc.com.au.

Thank you again for your support and helping us to raise funds to brighten the lives of seriously ill children.
