RUCKMAN Aaron Sandilands helped steer Fremantle to a 43-point win over Carlton today at Bunbury's Hands Oval before a sell-out crowd of 10,000.

With the mercury hovering around 32C at the bouncedown, Fremantle got off to a blistering start, kicking six straight goals in the first quarter.

Mark Harvey's team lead at every break to run out winners 20.6 (126) to 12.11 (83).

"Aaron's a dominant ruckman who is starting to put together the mix that we are looking for in that area," Harvey said.

"Today was a high-scoring game and our accuracy was terrific, which it has been for the last weeks. I was really ahappy with the presuure we applied to Carlton."

Harvey said he was pleased with the progess of Chris Tarrant, who spent most of his game time on Blues' power forward Brendan Fevola.

"I thought Tarrant showed really good closing speed and wasn't out-bustled or out-strengthed," he said.

"Just the fact that he was right on his opponent and never got caught out on any leading patterns. With these big power forwards, Tarrant has got the capacity to be able to match them. It's just whether he reads the game as quickly as they do in that area. But I was really pleased with how he went."

Harvey was also impressed by the sell-out crowd.

"We've got a really strong supporter base in the South-West, so it was great to have so many Fremantle fans in the crowd and be able to notch up a win for them," he said.

"It's great that we embraced it like we did today."
