Players and coaching staff from the Fremantle Football Club hit the fairways with the club’s corporate partners at the 2010 Player Sponsor Golf Day at the Vines Resort and Country Club.

Teams of four, with most comprising three corporate representatives and a Fremantle player, competed in the fun-filled event.

Former Fremantle players Tony Godden and Luke Webster played on the winning team, just edging Roger Hayden and his teammates from DVG Motors.

Following the golf, players and sponsors were entertained with lunch and a panel which included Paul Duffield, Dean Solomon, Chris Scott and Steve Rosich.

Duffield said he and his teammates had thoroughly enjoyed playing with Fremantle’s sponsors.

“I think all the guys had a great time - it was good for us to get to know our sponsors over a game of golf,” he said.

Fremantle Chief Executive Steve Rosich said the event provided a great opportunity for the club to engage its corporate partners with the players directly.

“It’s an excellent way for us to entertain them,” Rosich said. “Looking at the smiles on all the faces, clearly everyone has had a good time.”

For Aaron Bruce, an employee at one of Fremantle’s major sponsors, Woodside, getting to the Vines to play was no mean feat.

Woodside placed their employees in a draw and randomly selected two workers - one of which was Mr Bruce - to represent the company at the Player Sponsor Golf Day.

Mr Bruce works in Karratha but he paid his way to Perth to be part of Woodside’s team, who were joined by Stephen Dodd.

“I just wanted to have a bit of a hit with the boys,” he said. “It’s been a great day.”

The Fremantle Football Club wishes to thank all its corporate partners who participated and helped make the 2010 Player Sponsor Golf Day a success.
