There was plenty of Christmas cheer at the Perth Zoo last Saturday for the Junior Member Christmas Party.

More than 1000 people joined the entire playing group to explore the Perth Zoo.

The players visited the animals before meeting on the main lawn area for a signing session.

Some of the players were caught off guard when the snake handler made a visit.

Alex Silvagni and Hayden Ballantyne were the bravest of all, volunteering to handle their slithery new friend.

They stood very still while the snake slithered over their shoulders and neck.

Some of the players weren’t too impressed with how close the snake was getting - Chris Mayne and Nick Suban might be having nightmares for a few nights!

In the African Savannah, the meerkats proved to be the highlight for many players.

They kept the boys entertained as they ran and hid throughout their enclosure.

Zac Clarke was overheard saying he thought a meerkat would make ‘the perfect pet!’

Santa made an appearance, as did Johnny ‘the Doc’ and Jenny, who didn’t want to miss out on any of the fun.

Overall, it was a great day for everyone involved and the players wish all our junior members a very Merry Christmas.
