Tom Sheridan is yet another of Fremantle’s fleet of young midfielders to have banked a big pre-season campaign behind him.

The club’s first selection from the 2011 AFL Draft, Sheridan had to wait until the final game of the 2012 home and away season to make his debut.

That was just a tiny taste of AFL action for the 19-year-old.

Sheridan wants a far bigger slice of the pie in 2013, and he’s acted accordingly throughout the pre-season to give himself a shot at achieving that goal.

The Victorian had six disposals against Geelong in the shortened NAB Cup triangular series format, but only the solitary disposal in the second game against West Coast.

He performed solidly against Adelaide in the trial match at AAMI Stadium.

Sheridan knows he’ll have to continue putting his best foot forward if he is to break into a Freo midfield loaded with experienced talent.
Saturday’s NAB Cup match against Carlton at Etihad Stadium will be a perfect opportunity for him and Freo’s other young players to stake their claim.
