Fremantle players and coaches paid tribute to young fan Milli Lucas at training on Wednesday, who passed earlier this week after a long battle with cancer.

The players and coaches wore black armbands at training and captain Nat Fyfe took to social media with a special message.

“Black armbands for Milli today,” Fyfe wrote on Instagram.

“She captured our hearts with her courage. Rest in peace, Mill.”

Teammate James Aish added to Fyfe’s tribute, passing on his condolences to Milli’s family.

“Unfortunately with the Covid year in 2020, I wasn’t able to meet Milli (at games),” Aish said in a media conference.

“It’s obviously a really sad story, she meant a lot to the club. I think she was really close to Fyfey, especially.

“I’d like to pass on the club’s thoughts to her family and we’re wearing the black armbands today for her. I know she meant a lot and the boys are all thinking of her.”
