Griffin Logue in action at training on Thursday.

Thursday’s main training session sits as the final barrier for trio Rory Lobb, Griffin Logue and Lachie Schultz to earn selection in round five against Adelaide, according to senior coach Justin Longmuir.

Lobb is set to return from a knee injury sustained in the AAMI Community Series, Logue has battled hamstring issues through the pre-season while Schultz was concussed in round three against Carlton and can now return if symptom free.

Fremantle are set to fly out to South Australia on Friday and Longmuir said that match fitness and not re-injury was the main concern for Lobb and Logue.

Rory Lobb flies for a mark at training on Thursday.

“I don’t think there will be a lot of risk to (Lobb’s) knee if he gets through and pulls up fine. It will just be more whether he’s conditioned enough and when you go into a game, if you’re not conditioned enough, you put other areas of your body at risk,” Longmuir said.

“(Logue is) probably a little bit like ‘Lobby’. We just need to make he’s resilient enough in his body to get through a full game.

“He played well (for Peel) last week, got through really well. He hit some markers. It’s just whether we bring him back this week or give him another week (in the WAFL) to get some more match fitness.

“(Schultz is) available if he gets through training…he’s got to tick all the boxes medically and it’s been really positive so far.

“He has to get through training and make sure he doesn’t have any symptoms and the doctors are happy with him. He’s got another important box to tick.”

Longmuir said that midfielder Darcy Tucker would make his return to football in the Peel reserves, which will be played on Saturday at Fremantle Oval.

Longmuir added that he was reluctant for Tucker to join the Fremantle contingent that will travel to Pingelly for the League game between Peel and South Fremantle at Pingelly Oval.

“Darcy Tucker is one that’s scheduled in for minutes this week that we’re probably not overly comfortable with the hammy he’s had, sitting in a car for two and a half hours prior to a game. We’ll just weigh that up,” Longmuir said.

“We’re really confident that the ground is up to scratch. It’s just, there may be a couple guys coming off longer term hamstring injuries, those sorts of things, that we might not risk.”
