Fremantle will be without Luke Ryan for Sunday’s RAC Derby at Optus Stadium with the defender to miss with a calf injury.

Emerging defender Tobe Watson has been recalled as a replacement, while Darcy Tucker is also in for the omitted Josh Treacy.

Tucker will play his first game of 2021 following a pre-season hamstring injury, while Watson returns to play his first game since round four, where he had 14 disposals and seven marks against Hawthorn.

Lloyd Meek, Connor Blakely, Joel Western and Taylin Duman will be the emergencies, with one of the four to be named as the medical sub an hour prior to bounce down.

In Friday’s RAC Derby media conference, Justin Longmuir confirmed that Tucker would return and hinted that Nat Fyfe could spend more time forward as a result.

With Fyfe forward, Josh Treacy has been pushed out of the team to prevent Freo being too tall up front.

“We’ll have to weigh that up, whether we want to go three talls,” Longmuir said on Friday.

“(Treacy) probably limits Fyfe going forward as we’d, in essence, be playing four tall forwards down there.

“It’s something we’re trying to work through, whether we give (Treacy) another go or give him a stint (for Peel).”

Longmuir added that Watson had played well against Hawthorn prior to his omission.

“(Tobe) was unlucky to go out of the side against Adelaide the week before,” Longmuir said.

“(Against Hawthorn), he played his role really well.”

Bounce down for the clash, which is a West Coast home game, is at 2.40pm.

The game will be broadcast live into Perth on Channel 7 and Fox Footy and can be streamed on Kayo.
