Fremantle are preparing for ruckman Sean Darcy to play out the season despite picking up two minor injuries in the past fortnight.

Darcy was doubtful for last week’s clash with Sydney due to a knee injury but was declared fit and played.

Against the Swans, Longmuir said Darcy had picked up a calf knock but added there were no plans to rest the ruckman.

“There was some commentary around him limping around on game day, he got a bit of a knock to his calf, which hampered him a little bit in game,” Longmuir said.

“Our plan was to play three talls last week but unfortunately, Josh Treacy pulled out just before the bounce with some sickness.

"We'll play Darcy if he's fit to play, he's a young player and any games we can get into him is beneficial at this stage of his career.

“He's such an important player for us and he personally wants to finish off the season really strong so we're not going to hold him back.”

During Thursday’s media conference, Longmuir was asked about a rumour that defender Reece Conca had not been earning selection due to a trigger in his contract.

Longmuir was defiant that there was no truth in the speculation.

“It's just a totally inaccurate assumption and rumour,” Longmuir said.

“If that was the case and we weren't playing (Reece) because of a trigger, we wouldn't have played him as a sub against Essendon and him not get on the ground.

“I'm really offended by whoever is saying that, it's totally inaccurate.

“Reece is really clear on what he needs to do to earn a spot in the team and he hasn't been able to do that consistently enough to earn his spot back in the side. That's where it sits.”
