Introduction

Born in Narrogin and raised in Brookton in the states South West, Roger Hayden began his football journey playing juniors in the Avon Districts for Brookton. Roger participated in the East Fremantle Development squads and played in the  East Fremantle Colts program in 1998, leading to a Premiership during that season. Making his WAFL League debut in 2000 for South Fremantle, Roger was subsequently drafted to the Fremantle Football Club Rookie List that year. Roger played 128 games for the Dockers, including 6 finals games appearances and making the 2007 All Australian 40 man squad. Roger went on to coach at the Fremantle Football Club as a development coach and backs line coach for 9 seasons, and is now the Next Generation Academy Coach and Indigenous & Multicultural Liaison Officer at the club. Roger is also a Life Member of the Fremantle Football Club after more than 20 years service. 

About the Roger Hayden Squad

The Fremantle Football Club's Next Generation Roger Hayden Squad is for players aged under 15 years. This academy focuses on consolidation of basic skills and incorporating skill development in a contested environment.
