Switkowski’s impressive 2019 campaign earned the small forward the 2019 Beacon Award as Fremantle’s most promising young player. No opposition player could rest when Switkowski was within range, applying excellent tackling and smother pressure form his 18 appearances. Switkowski came agonisingly close to being the game-winning hero against Carlton in round 15, with his snap putting Freo ahead with a minute to play. He also played a crucial role in Fremantle’s win against Geelong with nine tackles, five marks and two goal assists.
