Kimberley 9's
The Kimberley 9's program is a year round youth engagement program that culminates with an AFL 9's schools carnival on Cable Beach.
The Purple Hands Foundation delivers programs in both the school and community to support and develop positive social behaviours and attending school on a regular basis.
The purpose behind this initiative is to establish pathways and opportunities that are available to students for sport, education and employment, providing skills and opportunities so that these young people make good choices in life.
Football is simply the vehicle, and when students in remote locations, have a ball in their hands it breaks a barrier down allowing relationships and connections to be built.
By providing the Cable Beach carnival, the students have a reason to continue to attend school, which is where teachers, the PHF, WA Police and the wider community can have the most meaningful impact on these young people.
