Fremantle will take on the Gold Coast Suns on Sunday 28 June at Optus Stadium. The game will commence at 3.10pm WST. 

As Perth continues to grow into one of Australia's most diverse cities, Freo are making sure AFL is part of the welcome.

This weekend’s ‘My First Freo Game’ is our celebration of community, welcoming Perth's newest families to AFL and to the Freo family for our Round 16 clash with the Gold Coast Suns.

Tickets are available for the clash via Ticketmaster, starting from $39 for adults and FREE for juniors this weekend*

Transport Information 

Your footy ticket includes travel on all Transperth services for three hours either side of the game. Simply show your event ticket to the driver or inspector if asked. 

For Sunday's game, direct inbound trains on the Yanchep and Mandurah lines, in addition to the Suburban Event Bus Network will operate to get you to and from the game. Direct trains on the Fremantle Line will also operate after the game to get you home.

Come down to Southern Oval located in front of the Camfield and bounce around on the Inflatable Obstacle Course, try your shot at goals with the Freo Super Goals or take a hanger at the Inflatable Marking Spot. 

Be sure to also get yourself tatted up with a Freo airbrush tattoo or come and test your bean-bag-slinging skills with our Freo Footy Themed Corn Hole Boards! 

• Basket Weaving & Bracelet Making: This round marks our first Cultural Heritage match, so get crafty and make an indigenous-themed bracelet and basket weaving with Emma Jane's Weaving - a culturally appropriate Aboriginal-owned workshop. 

• Player Visit: Freo players will be stopping by pre-game, so be sure to catch them for an autograph or selfie. 

101 Oh What Fun! (Near Lobby 101)  
Located at Lobby 101, 101 Oh What Fun is your destination for fun outside of the footy. 

• Airbrush Tattoo: If you missed out on an airbrush tattoo before the game, be sure to stop by and get some purple paint. 

• Craft Workshop: Try your creative side with the Freo Craft Workshop. This week, decorate and make your own drum shaker to bang and rattle into the Purple Army atmosphere! 

• Player Visit: Freo players will be stopping by at half-time, so be sure to catch them for an autograph or selfie. 

101 Oh What Fun will close at the end of three-quarter time.

Come down and test your skills for our Mini Combine! See how your speed, strength and agility stacks up to your friends, and maybe one day you will be wowing the crowd on the field!  

• Running Man:  This fast-paced challenge gets you moving and racing against each other in a high-energy competition. Two players go head-to-head, running on a responsive platform to light up their side first. 

• Reaction Game: Test your reaction speed! This fun and addictive game that challenges you to try and catch as many of the falling batons as they randomly drop from above. 

• Reaction Cones: Reaction Cones is the ultimate test of speed, reflexes, and coordination.  As the cones light up and play sounds, race to tap them - building friendly competition and plenty of laughs. 

There will also be the regular fan-favourite activities. 

• Wheelchair Footy: WA All Abilities Wheelchair football 'come and try' and inclusion specialists will be on-hand to discuss participation opportunities in adaptive football for people living with disabilities. Wheelchair Footy will be running from when stadium gates open until the end of half-time. 

• Soft Play: Does your little one need a tap-out from sitting down? Let them burn off some energy at the soft play zone, with multiple bits to sit and climb about or even jump in the ball pit! With mats as the floor, it is a safe and fun way to keep your toddlers entertained at the footy. 

• Freo Guess Who?: How well do you know the Dockers players? Challenge your mates to the classic Guess Who? Game with a Freo twist! 

The Ressies Bar 
Head up to the Ressies Bar at the Eastern Scoreboard Terrace on Level 5 for the perfect pre-game party! 

We will have local musician Angus Dawson taking the stage and setting the vibes for what should be an amazing afternoon of footy.

Fremantle has sent Gold Coast's season into a tailspin 10 months on from the classic elimination final between the clubs, crushing the Suns by 51 points at Optus Stadium on Sunday and extending its own formidable winning run.

Freo controlled the game from start to finish in their 14th straight win, using frenetic pressure, organised defence, and a slick handball game to win 11.14 (80) to 3.11 (29) and open a two-game break at the top of the ladder.

In their first clash against the Suns since their heartbreaking finals exit last year, they highlighted the growing gap between the two teams this season, holding Damien Hardwick's men to their lowest ever score against Freo and their equal fourth lowest on record.

It was a powerful performance from the disciplined and selfless Freo that was only marred by some inaccurate kicking, with the final margin flattering the Suns, who have now lost five straight games and slid to 11th on the ladder in a season that promised so much.

Fremantle led by 20 points at the main break but turned the screws in the second half, kicking seven goals to two as star big man Luke Jackson furthered his Brownlow Medal credentials with a terrific performance kicking and setting up goals from the ruck.

Star midfielder Andrew Brayshaw (29 disposals, eight inside 50s and a goal) was outstanding, while second-year gun Murphy Reid dazzled throughout with 28 touches and seven score involvements.

Freo controlled possession but still out-tackled the Suns 66-45, with their rock-solid defence led by Alex Pearce proving impenetrable and their tall forwards dominating the air with a massive 17 marks inside 50 to four.

It was half-forward Michael Frederick, however, who did maximum damage, booting an equal career-high four goals, with Pat Voss and Jackson booting two each as ruckman Sean Darcy returned to the team with one. 

The Suns' under-fire midfield was able to win the clearance battle on paper (36-24), but it led nowhere for last year's semi-finalists, who appeared bereft of confidence and frequently frustrated. 

Key defender Sam Collins battled admirably on Jye Amiss, while captain Noah Anderson (32 and eight clearances) won plenty of the ball, with Jed Walter kicking two goals in the second half.

Fremantle's physicality was a feature early, with Freo bullying their opponents around the contest in the first quarter, applying significant pressure and then slicing through the corridor with rapid handball chains.

The Suns looked shellshocked as Frederick kicked the opening three goals of the game, with the visitors going goalless in the opening term for the first time this season and trailing by 26 points early.

The second quarter was an arm-wrestle as rain set in, with Gold Coast holding up better defensively and at the coalface but unable to capitalise, kicking the only goal for the term as Freo squandered opportunities.

Freo's ability to dominate inside 50s in the first half (31-17) suggested the game would break open in the second half if Freo persisted, but the Suns could point to their own clearance ascendency (23-10) to suggest they would find a way to control terms.

As it turned out, Gold Coast won the first two clearances of the third quarter, and Fremantle kicked the first two goals, with Jackson and Voss converting long-range set shots and opening a 31-point break.

Frederick's fourth typified Fremantle's game, with their pressure on the Suns opening a window for O'Driscoll to intercept the ball in the midfield, flicking a handball to Brayshaw who then kicked long to Frederick inside 50.

Darcy's return was capped with a goal late in the quarter, extending the margin to 40 points and leaving the Suns' season teetering as they slide further out of contention at 7-8. 

Only a late goal from Walter prevented Gold Coast from kicking its fewest-ever goals in a game.
