Fremantle midfielder David Mundy says his family is on the recovery trail after they were struck down by COVID-19.

After missing last week’s clash against St Kilda due to AFL’s Covid Health and Safety Protocols, Mundy will miss the upcoming RAC Derby after catching the virus as a close contact.

“We’ve had a pretty ordinary few days in the Mundy household, but we’re all on track now,” Mundy told 96FM.

“It kicked us in the teeth a bit as well, we had a few really bad reactions to it. Some quite sick children, so it was a scary few days.

“We’re through it now and just working away on the back edge of it.”

Whilst watching the St Kilda loss from home in isolation, the father of three was quick to identify areas of improvement for his side as they look to take on the Eagles this Sunday afternoon.

“The basics really let us down, which is frustrating as a spectator,” Mundy said.

“It was really obvious to everyone, so hopefully it’s an easy fix.

“The easy turnovers moving the ball forward and our inability to move the ball out of the contest through quick hands was really poor.”

The TABtouch squad for the RAC Derby will be announced on Thursday at 3.20 pm WST.
