Fremantle participated in their first intraclub of the summer as part of continued preparation for the upcoming pre-season clashes with Adelaide and Port Adelaide over the next three weeks.

Teams were split into Team Purple and Team Grey, with Grey recording a four-goal win set up by a dominant first half.

Brayshaw (purple) and Serong (grey) were arguably the best midfielders for their respective sides, both typically clean with the football and instrumental in moving the ball forward.

Jaeger O’Meara was also clean with his disposal and gathered plenty of the ball, while Liam Henry held his width well out on the wing and constantly provided an option to his teammates on the outside.

Henry’s day was highlighted by an extremely well-weighted kick from the wing to Matt Taberner in the forward pocket, which gave Taberner’s direct opponent no chance to affect the mark.

James Aish provided a spark in the midfield and linked up well with Brayshaw, while Luke Jackson continued to impress with his follow up and around the ground work.

Jye Amiss opened proceedings with a mark and setshot from outside the 50m arc, with both he and Josh Treacy doing their best to press claims for round one selection.

After a one-sided first half to Grey, Purple lifted in the third term to kick three quick goals to claw their way back into the contest, the first of those through an Amiss snap goal inside the first 20 seconds.

Sam Sturt finished with two goals as his intensity and pressure noticeably lifted - highlighted by a perfect execution of a clean run-down tackle on his Purple opponent.

Nat Fyfe was involved in both build-up chains that led to Sturt’s goals and got busy late as he worked up the ground.

Young was arguably the best defender of the day, getting plenty of the ball and continuing a consistent summer of driving his side into attack in gameplay.

Joel Hamling was solid in defence for Grey, challenging Amiss with a couple of intercept mark and spoil efforts.

Michael Frederick was in fine form with two goals, one of which he roved off a Liam Reidy tap off a forward 50 stoppage, while Sebit Kuek displayed an impressive individual effort to collect a loose ball with one arm to snap through his goal.
