Defender Emma O’Driscoll will miss Walyalup’s Indigenous Round game against Sydney Swans at Henson Park on Sunday, as the All Australian entered concussion protocols in last Sunday’s clash with North Melbourne after a head knock during the second quarter.

AFLW High Performance Manager Tom Sutherland provided an update on the defender and said she had pulled up well since the incident.

“Driz is feeling a lot better,” Sutherland said.

“She had a pretty heavy landing on Sunday. She’s entered the concussion protocols, so if she ticks off everything, hopefully we’ll see her back next week.”

The Club has three tests to play heading into this weekend against the Swans, in Gabby Biedenweg Webster, Ash Brazill and Madi Scanlon.

Walyalup opted to rest Biedenweg-Webster in Round 3, as the forward/defender managed some knee soreness.

“Gabba’s feeling a lot better,” Sutherland said.

“She’s managing a bit of knee soreness, but we’ll get her through some football this week and hopefully see her this weekend.”

Sutherland said both Brazill (hip) and Scanlon (ankle) are a chance after an extra week of rest under their belts.

“Braz is feeling a lot better. (She) had a bit of hip soreness and she’ll be a test to play this weekend,” Sutherland said.

“Madi was still a bit too sore to play last weekend, so she’ll be a test this week.”
