Fremantle Head of Player Personnel David Walls gave a key update on day one of the Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period.
Speaking to Cal Twomey on Trade Radio, Walls touched on three key points ahead of the 10-day period.
Walls said the Club would meet with Melbourne later today to discuss a trade for Geraldton-bred defender Judd McVee.
“We are still looking to improve our list at every opportunity and Judd McVee is one who has been identified and has requested a trade to us,” Walls said.
“We think he will make our list better and he’s one that we’d like to get done.
“We’ve started chats with Melbourne, but it’s still pretty early and we’ll catch up with them again this afternoon.

“We know he can defend and play deep lockdown, but we also think he’s got a lot of run and creativity to his game as well.
“We’d like to see him up the ground a little bit further, and we think he can really help and complement our ball movement out of the back half.”
Discussing the trade requests of developing ruckman Liam Reidy and contracted midfielder Will Brodie, Walls explained the Club’s understanding of their desires.
“We respect both guys and we understand their position - Liam being a ruckman, a back-up behind Luke (Jackson) and Sean (Darcy). He’s obviously looking for opportunity,” Walls said.
“Will Brodie as well is looking for opportunity to play in the midfield and we haven’t seen him at senior level for us since early 2023.
“We’ll look to facilitate a trade for both of those guys.”
Walls categorically ruled out any trade talk involving ruckman Sean Darcy, who is contracted to Fremantle until the end of 2030.
“Absolutely not - no discussions had. We see Sean and Luke continuing their ruck combination together,” Walls said.
