Fremantle new recruit and defender Judd McVee feels like he has fit in seamlessly following his trade back to his home state of Western Australia at the end of the 2025 season.

“It was a bit nerve-wracking at the start, obviously meeting everyone, learning a new game plan and all those types of things,” McVee said speaking to the media before the Club’s Super Clinic in Bunbury on Thursday afternoon.

“I definitely feel like I fit in here and I’m excited.

“I actually lived with the Brayshaws for my first two years in Melbourne, so I know Andy quite well.”

With 65 career games under his belt and now entering his fifth season of AFL football, McVee said he is looking to learn and blend in with an already experienced backline group at Fremantle.

“I think I’ll be a rebounding half-back," McVee said.

“That’s what I’m here to do.

“He (Jordan Clark) is obviously an All-Australian player, so to learn off him and go from there is great.

“All the attention (from opposition teams) might go to him.”

Being down in Bunbury for the Club’s two-day Community Camp, McVee expressed the importance of giving back to regional areas.

“We had a big Super Clinic down here today with heaps of kids, and it just makes you remember when you were a young fella and AFL players would do these types of things and how much you loved it,” McVee said.

“We all love giving back, and it’s something we look forward to.

“Being a country kid myself, you don’t always get these opportunities growing up, so coming down here all the kids are raring to go.

“We just want to make it as enjoyable as possible for them and have a good time.”
