Fremantle have confirmed two changes to the team ahead of Saturday’s RAC Road Safety Game against the Tigers at Optus Stadium.
As confirmed by senior coach Justin Longmuir during his Thursday morning media conference, key defender Brennan Cox returns to the side after suffering a calf strain late in pre-season.
Cox has been named in a back pocket alongside captain Alex Pearce and Heath Chapman.
Midfielder Jaeger O’Meara also returns to the side following a minor hamstring injury, named on a wing in place of Nathan O’Driscoll who has been omitted.
Defender Oscar McDonald is the other change to the side with scans late on Tuesday confirming a minor calf strain.
Mason Cox, Hugh Davies and O’Driscoll have been named as the three emergencies.
After a successful debut against Melbourne in Round 2 when he gathered 20 disposals, two marks and two tackles, teenager Chris Scerri has been named on the five-man interchange bench with Isaiah Dudley, Neil Erasmus, Judd McVee and Corey Wagner.
Fremantle host Richmond on Saturday 28 March at Optus Stadium, with the match commencing at 1.15pm WST. It will be a consecutive home game for Fremantle before two away fixtures in Adelaide.
Fremantle are on a three-game win streak against the Tigers, winning those encounters by an average margin of 55.3 points.
The two teams last played at Optus Stadium in 2024.
Fans are reminded they will be required to adhere to Optus Stadium’s new ticketing system to enter the venue on Saturday.
The clash will be the third and final delayed free-to-air telecast to start Fremantle’s season.
