VINTAGE performances from some of the competition's ageing stars have seen them demand selection in the round six Team of the Week, brought to you by AccorHotels.

Gary Ablett was sublime for Geelong against reigning premiers West Coast while David Mundyproved critical in his 300th game for Fremantle.

Moving back to the midfield has been a brilliant decision for Travis Boak, who is flying, while Collingwood champion Scott Pendlebury put together yet another Anzac Day masterpiece.

The Crows were rock solid down back, led by Alex Keath and Rory Laird. For Hawthorn, James Sicily is putting together an excellent campaign, while Mark Blicavs has been similarly impressive at Geelong. Nick Vlastuin patrolled the skies as Richmond overcame Melbourne and Zac Williams cut Sydney up with his precise foot skills.

The 30-plus brigade dominate the onball brigade and fair enough too. BoakMundy and Pendlebury were all best afield in their respective games. Tim Taranto is stepping up to help fill the hole left by Callan Ward after the Greater Western Sydney co-captain's left knee reconstruction. Unsurprisingly, Brodie Grundy again dominated the ruck battle. The pain of losing Brownlow medallist Tom Mitchell in the pre-season has been mitigated by Jaeger O'Meara's unbelievable effort in Hawthorn's comeback victory.

Ball-winners who hit the scoreboard are invaluable, and there were several in the past week. Ablett wound back the clock with another vintage display, Stephen Coniglio kept pumping up his contract value, Mitch Robinson has been a great pick-up for Brisbane and Port Adelaide will hope Sam Gray keeps up this form in the absence of his namesake, Robbie, who is set to miss a month with a broken hand. Adelaide co-captain Taylor Walker booted four goals in his side's critical win over St Kilda and Joe Daniher won an engaging duel with Darcy Moore.

A couple of big-name off-season recruits are firing: Lachie Neale and Dylan Shiel. It seemed Liam Shiels didn't miss a beat on return from a hamstring strain while Brandon Matera is in career-best touch for Fremantle.
