Here are three things we saw from Peel’s 62-point win over Swan Districts at Rushton Park.
Thunder dominate from the start
It was a really dominant performance from Peel Thunder on Saturday afternoon, jumping out of the blocks in the first quarter, kicking five goals to none.
Despite losing the clearance battle, the Thunder still managed to win the possession count by 100+ and, importantly, win the tackle count despite having much more of the ball themselves.
There were 10 individual goalkickers for the day, generated from 53 inside 50s (+15 on Swan Districts).
Jeremy Sharp's day out
Jeremy Sharp continued his strong form in the WAFL, finishing the day with a career-high 42 disposals, 6 inside 50s and two goals - including a spectacular goal from outside 50 tucked up against the boundary line.
Sharp has now recorded 34 or more disposals in his last three WAFL games as he continues to push for AFL selection.
Wingers continue to develop
Toby Whan and Jaren Carr both lined up on the wing, but had opportunities playing minutes as midfielders on Saturday.
In two very similar and impressive performances, both players had 27 disposals and a goal, generating 11 of the Thunder's 53 inside 50s between them.
It was a career-high (League) possession count for Whan, while Carr took an equal-career-high (League) 9 marks for the afternoon.
