Young ruckman Aiden Riddle has signed a two-year contract extension with the Club, extending his time in purple until at least the end of 2028.

Now in his second season with Fremantle after being taken at pick No.7 in the 2024 AFL Rookie Draft, Riddle has been developing his ruck and forward craft with Peel Thunder in the WAFL.

Fremantle Head of Player Personnel David Walls said the now 20-year-old has shown great professionalism and dedication to developing his game since joining Fremantle.

“Aiden absolutely jumped at his chance to get on our list, and we couldn’t be happier with how he has grasped his opportunity,” Walls said.

“He’s really dedicated himself to improving, has put on size, gotten stronger and is working really closely with ruck coach Sam Naismith to develop his craft.

“He’s splitting his time as a forward, kicking 10 goals across 16 league appearances, and has assumed the main ruck duties at times when required at Peel.

“We have good depth across our ruck department with Luke Jackson, Sean Darcy and Mason Cox - three guys that have a lot of AFL experience - so for Aiden to be able to continue to build and develop under those guys will be really advantageous for him going forward.

“We are really happy to have Riddle extend his time for another two-years and look forward to what the future holds for him.”

Riddle was previously out of contract at the end of this season, but now joins 17 other players contracted until at least 2028 or beyond.
