Fremantle have confirmed two changes for the Thursday night clash with Sydney in the Club’s 24th annual Starlight Purple Haze Game, proudly presented by South32.
Ruckman Mason Cox and veteran midfielder Jaeger O’Meara return for the Optus Stadium clash following the side’s loss to the Giants in Canberra last weekend.
Midfielder Hayden Young (groin) will miss the Round 18 match, while ruckman Sean Darcy has been managed due to the five-day break between games.
Cox has been named on the interchange bench alongside Isaiah Dudley, Matthew Johnson, Judd McVee and Nathan O’Driscoll, while O’Meara will start on a wing.
Oscar McDonald, Brandon Walker and Chris Scerri have been named as emergencies for the clash.
O’Meara has been leading from the front with his leadership and experience with Peel Thunder in the WAFL after being unlucky to lose his spot following the Round 13 win over North Melbourne.
The game will commence at 6.10pm WST at Optus Stadium.
Thursday night will celebrate the 24th annual Starlight Purple Haze Game, proudly presented by South32.
The Club is closing in on an incredible $4 million raised for the Starlight Children's Foundation since 2003, with just over $300,000 required to reach the milestone.
Fremantle fans are once again encouraged to get behind the cause by pledging any dollar amount for every goal the team kicks during the match.
Make your pledge at fanspledge.org.au, or look out for the QR code around the ground and on the big screen on the night.
South32 will help kick-start the fundraising by pledging $1,000 for every Fremantle goal and will match fan pledges up to a combined total of $100,000 - ensuring every goal not only lifts the crowd, but also helps brighten the lives of seriously ill children and their families.
