Fremantle defender Jordan Clark has spoken of his admiration for milestone man Brennan Cox.
Cox played his 150th AFL game for Fremantle in the win over Port Adelaide, with Clark speaking after the match about the role-model father Cox has developed into since having his first son, Arlo.
“I probably think Luke (Ryan) has touched on it, but as a bloke, you're probably prouder of the dad he is to his young son in Arlo," Clark said.
"He's got another one on the way, and obviously for fiancée Keah.
“Me starting my own family soon, he sort of sets a great example for the way I want to be and what I want to stand for as well.
"That’s probably more the stuff I focus on with 'Cocko' (Cox).
"I know what I'm going to get on the footy field, and I just love him as a teammate and as a person in general.”
Cox and Keah are expecting their second child later this year.
Mason Cox also celebrated his 150th AFL game in the win over Port. Although it is his first season at Fremantle and just his 11th game in purple, parents Phil and Jeanette both made the flight over from the United States to watch their son reach the milestone.
“I thought (Mason) 'Coxey' was really good in the ruck,” Clark said.
“He gave us first use when he was around the ball and provided in the contest all day.”
Clark said Western Derby 63 next Friday against West Coast will surely be a hotly contested game, with ladder positions often going out the window in rivalry clashes.
“Obviously six-day break into West Coast on Friday, and you know they've really improved,” Clark said.
“They're a very good team, they're going to throw their best at us, and you know, teams are going to come after us.
"We've known that for the last couple of weeks, but one and zero, we've spoken about it all year, and we'll take care of it when we need to.”
