Fremantle have added All-Australian defender Emma O’Driscoll to their Round 2 squad of 24 for Fremantle’s clash with Collingwood on Sunday 23 August at Ikon Park.
O’Driscoll will come in for her first hitout of the 2026 season after missing the pre-season practice matches with injury and replaces Lily Johnson who has been omitted.
In 2025, O’Driscoll ranked first at Freo for intercepts, averaging 9.2 per game and will be a welcomed addition on half-back following Freo’s 21-point loss to Port Adelaide last Sunday.
After signing a contract extension with Fremantle until the end of 2029, Gabby Newton leads the midfield alongside Kiara Bowers, Aisling McCarthy and Mim Strom.
Following Strom’s 75th consecutive milestone game in Round 1, Strom and defender Laura Pugh will play their 75th game as teammates, while Pugh and Hayley Miller who will line up as centre-half forward also share 75 games playing together.
Pre-season draftee Noa McNaughton, Charli Hazelhurst and Evie Parker have been added to the extended squad of 24.
McNaughton showed promising signs up forward during the pre-season practice matches, kicking a goal in each four games, and is named on the extended bench alongside Matilda Banfield, Bella Smith, Sarah Verrier, Indi Strom, Tunisha Kikoak, Hazelhurst and Parker.
The extended bench will be trimmed to five players on Friday, with the final team named at 3pm WST.
Sunday’s clash will commence at 12.35pm EST at Ikon Park.
