Fresh off putting pen to paper and securing his time in purple for another three years, Fremantle forward Isaiah Dudley said staying with the team that gave him his AFL career was a no-brainer.

Speaking to the Club following the announcement of his contract extension alongside defender Oscar McDonald and young winger Toby Whan, Dudley said he just absolutely loves Freo.

“It was a no-brainer. I absolutely love the Club, love Perth, the city, love the fans… It was a no-brainer,” Dudley said.

“My family absolutely told me, ‘don’t go anywhere,’ because they love it here as well.

“I just love playing every game, coming to training. I love being around the boys and love being at the Club.”

A big part of Dudley’s commitment to Freo comes as the 23-year-old joins a core group of Fremantle players contracted to the Club long term, with Dudley now signed until at least 2029, he joins 15 other teammates who are contracted for the same period or beyond.

“All of the boys that signed on are pretty good names to sign on, and that made me want to sign on as well,” Dudley said.

“We’re heading in the right direction. Everyone’s maturing at the right age, and it’s a lot of fun to be a part of.

“It’s the best time to be a part of it because obviously we’ve got a big finals series coming, which I’m pretty excited about.”

Fremantle will host Hawthorn at Optus Stadium in the Club’s Qualifying Final on Thursday 3 September as part of the 2026 Toyota AFL Finals Series.
