David Winkless is a Docker Diehard. Full stop.

Over the past week, the proud and passionate Fremantle Dockers’ fans out there have answered the Docker Diehards call out, sending in some brilliant entries.

“Docker Dave” Winkless’ was hard to go past, stating his case with a self made You Tube video highlighting the incredible desire he has for the Freo Dockers.

He has won two tickets to Sunday’s Carlton Mid Derby for his Docker Diehards entry on fremantlefc.com.au

David was just 10 years old when the Fremantle Dockers played their first AFL game in 1995.

The first game he attended was the Western Derby in September 1995. Freo didn’t win, but David developed a love for the game and his beloved team.

In 1997 he joined as a junior member and is now a member of the Banner Team, which he joined in 2004.

David’s room is a shrine to the Fremantle Dockers. If it’s Freo Dockers, he probably owns it.

He has 40 different club guernseys dating back to the very first Freo wore in 1995 and more than 180 Freo AFL Record magazines, including the one from the club’s very first appearance against the Northern Territory Football League on 28 January, 1995.

It doesn’t stop there. He has Freo bed sheets, phones, 50 DVDs, Modra bears, a one-eyed patch made for him by a friend and scarves with player badges from over the years pinned on them.

David’s walls are covered in Fremantle Dockers’ memorabilia and, this year alone, he has spent more than $1000 on the new branded Freo merchandise.

He drives to the Freo Team store in his red Hyundai i20, which was purchased at Fremantle Dockers’ club sponsor DVG Hyundai and proudly displays Freo plates and a back window decorated with Freo stickers.

But his most prized possession is Hayden Ballantyne’s 2010 round 1 match-worn Purple Haze guernsey which David won on Fremantle’s AFL Auctions website.

Throughout the season we will be featuring “Docker Diehards” on fremantlefc.com.au
