Round 2 v Gold Coast
Domain Stadium
Saturday 2 April 4.40pm WST
Fremantle’s latest recruit Harley Bennell is likely to line up for the first time against his old team mates and for the first time in front of a Freo home crowd for the Starilight Purple Haze game. Gold Coast are predicted to fight for a top eight spot after the club was hit with injuries in 2015. Watch out for the reaction from the purple army when Bennell gets his first touch on Domain Stadium. The pacey midfielder should be well suited to the wide-open spaces.
Round 3 v West Coast
Domain Stadium
Saturday 9 April 5.40pm WST
With both WA teams finishing in the top two last season, local fans will be craving the first Carlton Draught Derby. It is an exciting prospect under lights on an autumn Saturday night. The ledger was balanced with one win each in 2015. West Coast hosts the first derby and will be looking to secure local bragging rights. The sides don’t meet again until deep into the season in round 20.
Round 8 v Hawthorn
Saturday 14 May
Aurora Stadium
Tassie has not been a happy hunting ground for Fremantle in recent outings, its 72-point loss to the premiers in the corresponding fixture last year in Launceston was the heaviest under Ross Lyon. Both Hawthorn and Fremantle are expected to remain in the top eight in 2016. This match-up may only be for four-points but fans of both clubs will be circling this date in the diary.

Round 14 v Collingwood
MCG
Friday 25 June 7.50pm EST
Fremantle’s one and only outing in the regular season at the MCG comes on footy’s biggest stage, a Friday night battle with Collingwood. Expect a bumper crowd for this match-up under lights. The two teams met once last year, with Fremantle winning a Thursday night thriller by seven points at Domain Stadium. There are a number of mouth-watering potential match-ups such as Nat Fyfe and Collingwood captain Scott Pendlebury. The last time the teams met on the MCG was round 14, 2012.

Round 17 v Geelong
Domain Stadium
Friday 15 July
Friday night footy heads to Perth with Freo to continue its recent rivalry with the Cats. Fremantle has the wood on Geelong recently, winning three of its past five. Geelong last won against Fremantle at home in 2011. Added value in this game is another head-to-head battle between Freo’s Brownlow Medallist Nat Fyfe and Geelong’s star recruit Patrick Dangerfield. The pair shared in five Brownlow votes the last time they met.
