Fremantle assistant coach Todd Curley is encouraging fans to get down to Subiaco Oval on Saturday night to see the intra-club match featuring a host of the club’s established stars and new recruits.
Bouncedown is at 6.00pm, with free entry via Gate 8 and parking available at Kitchener Park.
Curley said the players were itching to get the competitive juices out of the system.
“It’s a great chance for the boys after training hard all summer,” he said. “They are just looking to play some games now.
“It’s important to get up and going and get some confidence within the group.”
As one of the highlights, Curley said fans could expect to see Ryan Crowley fit again after the key player missed most of last season through injury.
“He has ticked every box so far in the pre-season,” Curley said. “He’ll go out, play some footy and enjoy being back out there.”
All eight of Fremantle’s new draftees will be on show at Subiaco, including the club’s first pick, Anthony Morabito, who will be joined in Team A by mature-age recruits Alex Silvagni and Michael Barlow.
For Team B, Curley said forward Nathan Fyfe was one to look out for.
“He’s an exciting kid,” Curley said. “He has a big set of hands, works hard and has good ability.
“He is a natural forward with good aerobic ability.”
Reigning Doig Medallist Aaron Sandilands (Team A) will also be in action, giving Team B’s Zac Clarke a good hit-out against one of the AFL’s best ruckmen.
The game will also feature 12 WAFL players to ensure both team lists are full.
