Freo Dream Team Wrap: The Sandilemma
What to do with your injured ruck champ?
Sandi had been going great-guns with 90 DT points already compiled with well over a quarter to go. It seemed another giant 100+ score was on the way.
The All-Australian ruckman came to the bench a bit worse for wear and his left foot was quickly iced up.
On Monday, it was revealed he had suffered a toe injury which meant Freo would be Spider-less for the next four weeks.
While some may not be too concerned with Sandi’s absence (St Kilda, Hawthorn, Essendon and Melbourne fans), the 139,507 Dream Team coaches who have Spider will be doing a fair bit of soul searching this week, trying to put the pieces of their shattered ruck division back in order.
The good news: if you’re playing a half-decent Dream Team in league play this week, then they had big Spider in their line-up anyway.
If your opponent doesn’t have Sandi, then it’s probably Aaron Sandilands himself who you are playing because the Freo players can’t add themselves or their teammates to their own Dream Teams.
Now, onto the dilemma of whether to keep or trade Sandi?
The only people who should consider trading him out are those of you who are in dire need of a win or two in the next few weeks.
The best advice, however, is to keep Sandilands in your team. It’s only four games and the big Spider will be back accumulating points for you before you know it.
Whichever way you roll, good luck.
