Fremantle Starlight ambassador Andrew Brayshaw has encouraged all Freo fans to get behind Saturday’s Starlight Purple Haze game, which will be played against GWS at Optus Stadium.

As well as dressing up in their best purple outfit, fans are encouraged to continue to give generously to the Starlight Childrens Foundaion, which helps brighten the lives of seriously ill children and their families.

Since 2003, Fremantle members, supporters and players have raised more than $1.5 million for the Starlight Children's Foundation.

“It’s a really important game for our players and the football club so we hope everyone gets behind it,” Brayshaw said.

“It’s our last home game so hopefully we can make it a good one for the kids.”

Starlight Purple Haze Fans Pledge

Fans can pledge any dollar amount for each goal Fremantle kick during this Saturday's game with all funds raised going towards brightening the lives of seriously ill children.

PLEDGE NOW

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, there will be no tin rattling at the game, instead fans can register their Purple Haze Fans Pledge online.

Brayshaw said that the pandemic has changed how the club plans to celebrate the week.

“It’s been really challenging not being able to (interact with the Starlight kids), I think we’re setting up a Webex call for later in the week to get in touch with a lot of them,” Brayshaw said.

“It has changed a lot, this time last year we would be going through and doing some ward visits, hanging out some caps and scarves and trying to put some smiles on some kids’ faces.”

South32, Starlight's Fundraising Partner, is matching every pledge made up to $50,000 - so the impact of your pledge is doubled!
