Fremantle will face Hawthorn at Adelaide Oval on Saturday 10 April as part of the AFL's 2027 Gather Round fixture.
The 2027 Toyota AFL Premiership season will mark the fifth year of Gather Round, with a record 270,018 fans attending the nine matches played across Adelaide Oval, Norwood Oval and Barossa Park in 2026.
Gather Round will run from Thursday 8 April to Sunday 11 April, falling during school holidays across the country. Fans will also have the chance to see players from all 18 clubs up close at a new free players’ parade on the Friday afternoon.
The clash shapes as one of the round’s marquee matchups, with Fremantle and Hawthorn meeting twice in 2026. Freo came from 19 points down early in the final quarter to win by 15 in Round 9, before the Hawks turned the tables in the First Qualifying Final at Optus Stadium. Fremantle has won three of the past five meetings between the two clubs.
Fremantle holds a positive 3–1 record across the four previous instalments of Gather Round, including a six-point win over Collingwood at Adelaide Oval in 2026. Hawthorn claimed its first Gather Round win last season, beating the Western Bulldogs at the same venue.
Further details on the Gather Round fixture and activities will be shared in the coming months.
