Joel Western in action for Peel Thunder.

Fremantle coach Justin Longmuir said pressure for spots is evident after Peel Thunder recorded their biggest ever win on Sunday against East Perth.

Nine Fremantle players pulled on the Peel jumper, highlighted by the performances of Taylin Duman (30 disposals, nine marks), Connor Blakely (26 disposals, seven marks), Joel Western (20 disposals, two goals) and Leno Thomas (23 disposals, five marks).

Liam Henry kicked two goals while Mitch Crowden (17 disposals, four tackles) and Griffin Logue (15 disposals, seven marks) performed well.

Meanwhile, Bailey Banfield (nine disposals, five tackles and a goal) and Nathan O’Driscoll (9 disposals, three marks) also contributed.

The result was also Peel’s first 100-plus point win in their history.

“It was really promising on the weekend, Peel had a really strong win and it was by far the best performance of the year,” Longmuir told 6PR Sportsday.

“It puts pressure on the senior side to perform which they did and it’s good to have those options available.”

In addition to Logue’s return on the weekend, Rory Lobb and Darcy Tucker are also hoping to be available for selection at either AFL or WAFL level this weekend.

Longmuir said Fremantle would manage the trio carefully.

“We will have to be really careful on how we get fitness into the players returning from long term injuries,” Longmuir said.

“It’s been nearly a year since ‘Griff’ played, it’s going to be a while since ‘Lobby’ played and Darcy Tucker is back this week which has been a while since he played.

“We are just going to have to be really careful about how we bring them back into the AFL side.

“They will have to perform well to start with and that’s a good problem to have.”
