Drafted by Fremantle with pick 53 in the 2008 national draft, Walters was merely a 17-year-old boy when he joined the Club.

Since then, Walters has gone on to play 223* games (8th all time), have four top five Doig Medal finishes (including a runner up), earn All Australian honours (2019), and be the Club’s leading goal kicker in five different seasons (2013, 15, 16, 18, 19), with a staggering 349* goals (second all time for Fremantle) across his career.

Despite all this, Walters has remained humble, yet proud of his achievements.

“I love the Fremantle Dockers,” Walters said on TABtouch Radio on Wednesday morning.

“They’ve looked after me over the years and I feel like I do owe them a lot, considering that they put me in a position to be able to play at the highest level.

“I’ve had to work hard over my career, and I had to grow up in a sense.

“There is no better way to grow up than with the Fremantle Football Club.

“There’s not much more I can say, I’m quite proud that I’ve been at this Club for my entire career.”

As the anticipation for his 350th goal grows, the 33-year-old said he remained focused on the task at hand.

“Nothing has really changed in my mindset,” Walters said.

“I just want to go out there and lead as much as I can and be a role model to not only the players that we have here at the Football Club, but a lot of the young kids out in the community as well.

“I’m quite proud of it (goalkicking record), I do joke about it because that’s what I do in awkward situations, but it’s something that I’m proud of and there is no doubt my family are proud of it as well.

“It’s something that I definitely hold close to my heart because I’m a one Club player.”

Walters and the team will be in action on Saturday, with bounce down for the clash with North Melbourne commencing at 10.45am WST.
