Fremantle forward Josh Treacy has said maintaining the team’s momentum following the Round 13 bye will be pivotal in continuing the Club’s push for a top-eight spot in the second half of the year.

Fremantle went into the bye having won their final three matches by an average margin of 31.3 points, improving to a 7-5 record and sitting eighth on the ladder. The key forward said that continuing to focus on their established processes and focusing on one game at a time will be key to ongoing success.

“(It's about) continuing to chip away at what we’ve been doing beforehand,” Treacy said at his Monday morning media conference.

“Making sure we’ve had really good preparation, continuing to value the right things, and trusting that our game plan is going to show up.

“We’re on the way to figuring out our best footy, and we’ve certainly taken the right steps to get there for sure.”

Playing at Optus Stadium on Saturday against North Melbourne - but as the away side - Treacy said the opportunity to stay home and play in front of Fremantle supporters is something the group is looking forward to.

“It’s clearly a huge advantage for us, especially with the ability to stay home for an extended period,” Treacy said.

“We’ve got a month at home now, but it’s about chipping away each week and taking it one day at a time without looking too far ahead.

“Yes, it’s only one week but it’s a small step in the right direction.

“Not only is it great for us players, but it’s also great for our fans that we can experience another game at home.

“It will be really good for them to show out on a Saturday night in what’s hopefully a strong performance from us.”

Fremantle will now not leave Western Australia until Round 17 when the team faces the Swans at the SCG.
