Adam Cerra is already 27 games into his AFL career but he’s yet to play a game at Adelaide Oval.

It is a challenge the talented youngster is looking forward to this Sunday against Adelaide as Fremantle looks to break a recent run of losses at the ground.

Fremantle beat both South Australian teams at home at Optus Stadium in 2019, but have averaged a losing margin of 68 points in their past four visits to Adelaide Oval.

Cerra said Fremantle need to work hard to continue to build on their away form after an impressive win against GWS in Canberra in round five.

“Ross (Lyon) often says that confidence is an emotion and he always preaches about action, action is king,” Cerra said.

“We enjoyed the Giants win, we’re happy to be able to perform away from home and we’re hoping to continue that this week.

“We just have to recover well and prepare as best as we can, get over there and get into it.

“(Freo’s form at Adelaide Oval) hasn’t really been spoken about. We like to try and ensure that our form doesn’t change whether we’re at home or away.

“Being a WA-based side, we travel a lot so one thing we want to improve on from last year was carrying that form that we have at Optus Stadium to other grounds around the comp. It’s something we’re focused on heading into the Adelaide game.”

Cerra said he was excited for the clash with both Fremantle and Adelaide going into the game on the back of consecutive wins.

“We’ve had a really good start to the year but as we have previous weeks, we’re really eager to get over to Adelaide and continue our streak,” Cerra said.

“They’ve been quite strong, they had a good win last week (against St Kilda). They’re always hard to beat at home, no matter who’s playing them, in Adelaide it’s always going to be a challenge.”
