Here are three things we saw from Peel’s impressive 18-point win over reigning WAFL premiers South Fremantle

Team cohesion

A really strong performance by the Peel side, who worked as a unit to overcome a Bulldogs outfit that has only lost two games in the past two years. The Thunder started well, kicking four goals inside the first eight minutes, recording a six goal opening term and 13 goals to six by three-quarter time.

It was ultimately a dominant performance, built on the team’s ability to drive from inside the contest and then find numbers on the outside. Pleasingly, Fremantle-listed players who rejoined the Peel group maintained their form, showing they're ready to step into the AFL team again when required.

Hugh Davies marking prowess

Hugh Davies continues his strong form and leadership in the WAFL, taking an immense 20 marks down back, with a number of those intercept marks. The young key defender gathered 27 possessions and remains firmly in line for a senior call-up if required.

Jaeger O’Meara returns

After suffering facial fractures in a training incident in mid-April, Jaeger O’Meara made his football return, playing restricted minutes in the win. The veteran midfielder wore a protective face mask and showed his class in a positive sight for Fremantle fans.
