Fremantle forward Josh Treacy says Pat Voss playing multiple roles up forward has been a huge bonus this season.
Voss, Treacy and Jye Amiss booted nine goals between them against St Kilda last weekend, but it’s Voss’ ability to play specific roles within the forward line that has Treacy singing his praises.
“Clearly a great team man for us and he does an exceptional job,” Treacy said.
“It makes my job a little easier to get on the move and have one less defender to worry about.”
Treacy is expecting to face Lions defender Harris Andrews when Fremantle take on back-to-back premiers Brisbane at the GABBA on Saturday.
“Yeah I’m expecting Harris. It’s clearly going to be a tough matchup, a great matchup,” Treacy said.
“They’re the matchups you want to play in, to really test where your game is at.”
Brisbane go into the clash off the back of a 78-point loss to GWS, but Treacy says Fremantle won’t be underestimating the reigning premiers.
“You can’t hide the fact they’ve won the last two grand finals,” Treacy said.
The last time the two teams met was Round 23 last year, with Fremantle losing by 57 points at Optus Stadium.
“We’re a much better team than we were at the back end of last year and in that position and we’ll certainly be better prepared this week,” Treacy said.
“What we’ve achieved so far, it doesn’t give us any credits going into this week.”
