Fremantle will start the 2027 Toyota AFL Premiership season with a blockbuster Round 1 clash with the Western Bulldogs under lights on Thursday 18 March.

Beginning at 5.10pm WST, the fixture will be the third time Fremantle has hosted a season-opener at Optus Stadium.

The last Round 1 clash in front of the Purple Army was a win over Brisbane in 2024.

Freo and the Bulldogs last met in Round 21 of 2026, where Fremantle walked away 37-point winners in a commanding performance against a defensive Dogs outfit.

Josh Treacy kicked three goals and took eight marks, while Karl Worner stood out in defence with one of his best performances of 2026 with 28 disposals and 13 marks.

Fremantle played in three Thursday night home and away fixtures in 2026 and one final against Hawthorn.

Undefeated across three in-season games against the Hawks, Geelong and Sydney, the fixtures averaged crowds in excess of 55,000.

Further details about ticket on-sale dates will be communicated to members and supporters soon, while 2027 memberships are now available to be secured via the Fremantle Dockers Membership page.
