Purple Playground (Southern Oval)

Located at the Southern Oval pre-game, the Purple Playground is a dedicated play area where kids can climb, slide, and play to their heart's content.

Keep your eye out for the below activities at the Purple Playground each week.

  • Inflatables: On the Southern Oval, we have three giant Freo themed inflatables. Test your agility and balance on the obstacle course, set shots and snaps at the giant goals or even species at the marking spot!
  • Lawn Games: Come test your bean bag slinging skills with our Freo Footy themed corn hole boards!
  • Airbrush Tattoo: Our airbrush tattoo station will be set up in different areas throughout game day for you to add an extra splash of purple support.

101 Oh What Fun!

A Fremantle match day is not just a place for avid footy fans, it's also a fantastic destination for families. On game days, there will be a dedicated kids zone located on level 1, Lobby 101 that is designed to keep the kids entertained and engaged throughout the match!

Location and hours until the end of three-quarter time

The Kids Zone is conveniently located on level 1, Lobby 101 of Optus Stadium, easily accessible from various entrances. It opens well before the game starts and remains open until the end of three-quarter time, ensuring that kids can enjoy the activities before and during the match. 

Activities and Entertainment 

The Kids Zone is packed with a variety of activities and entertainment options for children of all ages. Some of the highlights include: 

  • Player Signing (Subject to Peel games): There will be two chances to get your memorabilia signed on game day, with players coming out to the Purple Playground pre-game and heading up to the 101 Oh What Fun! (Kids) section at half-time.
  • Arts and Crafts: Each week we will have a different arts and crafts station to kick back and put your creative skills on display
  • Mascots: Johnny, Jenny and Dokka the Quokka will be roaming around Optus Stadium on game day and are usually found around Half Time - make sure you come and say hello
  • Free Fruit for Kids: Free Fruit for kids is available at all Well Fed Outlets adjacent to blocks 105, 116, 507, 519, 532 and 544.

131 Even More Fun! 

Location and hours 
If you are seated on the other side of the ground, not to worry! There are more activities available out on the Western Podium behind section 131, in between the City View Cafe and Goodwood Restaurant. It is open from when stadium gates open and will close at the end of half-time.

Activities

  • Wheelchair Footy: WA All Abilities Wheelchair football 'come and try' and inclusion specialists will be on-hand at the Western Podium pre-game fan zone to discuss participation opportunities in adaptive football for people living with disabilities. Wheelchair Footy will be running from when stadium gates open until the end of half time.
  • Giant Guess Who
  • Reaction Game: Test your reaction speed! This fun and addictive game that challenges you to try and catch as many of the falling batons as they randomly drop from above.
  • Soft Play: Does your little one need a tap-out from sitting down? Let them burn off some energy at the soft play zone, with multiple bits to sit and climb about or even jump in the ball pit! With mats as the floor, it is a safe and fun way to keep your toddlers entertained at the footy.

Family Friendly Facilities

Optus Stadium has been designed with families in mind and has several facilities to cater to your needs.

Baby Change
There are five Parenting rooms throughout Optus Stadium. Each are equipped with changing tables and comfortable chairs for feeding. Doors are automated for easy entry with a pram. Please refer to the map for their locations.

Breastfeeding areas
Optus Stadium welcomes breastfeeding anywhere throughout the Stadium, but parents are also able to utilise the baby change rooms for feeding and changing nappies.

Cloaking for prams and strollers
For safety reasons, strollers and prams are not permitted in the Optus Stadium seating bowl. Strollers and prams may be stored in cloakrooms provided adjacent to the entry gates of Optus Stadium.

Lost children
In the event that a child is lost, we ask that patrons contact their nearest security guard, staff member or patrolling police immediately. You can also text the Patron Assistant Number - 0409 317 771.
