Sam Switkowski has been handed a two week suspension by the AFL Tribunal for Serious Misconduct.

The incident involved a tackle on Collingwood's Jack Ginnivan where the Tribunal determined it was Switkowski's intention to cause harm.

Represented by Barrister and Solicitor Seamus Rafferty, Switkowski pleaded guilty to the charge and expressed his remorse for his actions during the hearing.

The suspension means the forward will be unavailable for selection for Fremantle's games against Melbourne and Brisbane between rounds 11 and 12.

Sam Switkowski said he was disappointed but respectful of the verdict.

"It's incredibly disappointing but I'm respectful of the decision of the tribunal," Switkowski said.

"It's not in my nature to do such an act on the field and I'm super relieved that Jack didn't sustain any injuries.

"Now I'll look to train hard over the next couple of weeks and return and represent the Club."
