Alex Pearce will captain Fremantle in season 2025 after being voted in by his teammates and coaches for the third successive year.

The 29-year-old defender will continue to be supported by co-vice captains Andrew Brayshaw and Caleb Serong.

There is one change to the leadership group with young key forward Josh Treacy included for the first time.

Treacy’s addition is the only change to the Club’s leadership group since Pearce was first named captain in 2023.

The remainder of the leadership group is unchanged with Pearce, Brayshaw and Serong joined by Jaeger O’Meara, Sam Switkowski and Hayden Young.

Pearce’s reappointment as captain reflects the Club's confidence in his ability to guide the team on and off field.

“Alex’s leadership continues to grow and his values, work ethic and ability to inspire his teammates shows why he should continue to lead our Club,” said Executive General Manager of Football Joe Brierty.

“Alex embodies our trademark and the respect he commands among his peers and the coaching group was once again reflected in the voting process.

“In addition to Alex, it’s great to see his deputies Andy and Caleb continue to grow as leaders and be acknowledged by their peers for the dedication and commitment they display in all aspects of their football.”

Brierty said the mix of senior players and youth across all lines would provide a valuable cross-section of leadership for the group.

“We have a host of emerging leaders and it is great to see Josh Treacy being elevated this season,” said Brierty.

“Josh drives standards, leads by example and is a vocal contributor on and off the field. He’s earned the trust and respect of his teammates to lead and it’s great to see him join the group.”

“Jaeger O’Meara, Hayden Young and Sam Switkowski are also invaluable in their roles as they represent a diverse range of leadership qualities.”

“The player group is as driven as ever to succeed in 2025 and the Club is in great hands with this group of men leading the way.”

Treacy is coming off a breakout 2024 season, with the 22-year-old setting career highs in disposals (241), marks (122), and goals (45). Beyond his on-field impact, Treacy has earned the trust and respect of teammates and coaches and has been a notable voice over a number of seasons.
