Fremantle have confirmed their final team of 23 to take on Collingwood in Thursday night’s Round 9 clash at Optus Stadium, with Neil Erasmus, Pat Voss and Cooper Simpson coming into the side.
Midfielder Hayden Young was a forced omission and will be sidelined for up to three months following hamstring surgery.
Last week’s substitute Quinton Narkle (omitted) and Joshua Draper (omitted) join Young as the outs for the week.
Simpson will play just his third AFL game for Fremantle and his first of 2025, with a move to half-back in the WAFL sparking a strong run of form.
The 20-year-old has averaged 20.8 disposals across his five appearances for Peel Thunder this season.
Simpson has been named on the bench alongside Heath Chapman, who plays his 50th AFL game, Erasmus, Murphy Reid and Voss.
Erasmus returns for his third game of the season, having previously featured in the Club’s RAC Derby win over the Eagles and the Round 2 loss to Sydney.
The midfielder has averaged 24.6 disposals in his three WAFL appearances for Peel in 2025.
Voss returns after serving a three-game suspension. The key forward has kicked three goals from four AFL games this year and has also been used as a second ruck option.
The last time Fremantle faced Collingwood at Optus Stadium, the game ended in a thrilling draw, with Freo kicking the final four goals to snatch two points from the visitors.
Thursday will be the Club’s fourth Thursday night game. Freo previously played Collingwood on a Thursday night back in 2015, and before that prevailed by seven points at Subiaco Oval.
Thursday night marks the Club's annual Purple Hands Foundation game, which presents an opportunity for the community to raise funds for Fremantle’s charitable arm.
Purple Hands are dedicated to helping young people overcome barriers, unlock potential and instil important life skills using the power of sport.
Fans are encouraged to donate $10 online before the game or on the day, or purchase a Purple Hands light-up wristband at the game, which will assist Purple Hands in delivering essential programs, tackling key social issues that impact youth.
Oscar McDonald, Narkle and Draper have been named as emergencies for the clash.
The tactical substitute will be announced one hour before the game on Thursday.
Bounce down is at 6.10pm WST.
The game will be broadcast live on Channel 7 from 5.30pm WST, and on Fox Footy and Binge from 6.00pm. It will also be streamed live on 7plus from 5.30pm and Kayo from 6.00pm.
