Fremantle have confirmed three changes to Sunday’s line-up, with Sean Darcy, Isaiah Dudley and Oscar McDonald the inclusions.

James Aish, Josh Draper and Jeremy Sharp have all been omitted for the clash.

Darcy and Dudley are named on the bench alongside Bailey Banfield, Neil Erasmus and Nat Fyfe.

McDonald is named in a back pocket alongside Brennan Cox and Luke Ryan.

Speaking at his Friday morning media conference, Senior Coach Justin Longmuir confirmed both Darcy and Dudley would return, noting that Darcy had been rested for last week’s Essendon game due to a five-day break, while Dudley had worked his way back into the AFL side after taking personal leave.

“Darcy will come back in and we’ll assume the same sort of set up we used against Gold Coast and North Melbourne,” Longmuir said.

“It changes Luke’s (Jackson) role around a little bit, but it allows him to play to his strengths.

“While Sean is building form, he’s happy to play whatever role the team asks of him.

“He’s been injured a lot, and when we’ve played him, he’s played 90–95% in the ruck, which is a demanding position.

“We need to make sure we look after him and his availability as much as we do Jacko.

“He (Dudley) didn’t get dropped - he was out of the team for personal reasons and was away from the Club for a bit over two weeks.

“We just thought it was best for him and the team - at the time - for him to work his way back with a couple of games at Peel.

“He’s been good at Peel. Last week was a tricky game - given the conditions for a small forward - but he’s done everything right since returning to the Club.”

The only inclusion not revealed in Longmuir’s media conference was that of tall defender McDonald.

The 29-year-old featured twice for Fremantle in Rounds 6 and 7, playing as a forward and kicking three goals. Since then, McDonald has been lining up for Peel Thunder, delivering stand out performances in his last two games, averaging 20.5 disposals and nine marks.

Luke Jackson has been named as the starting ruckman, but Longmuir hinted at a similar set up to the Gold Coast and North Melbourne games, where he rotated between forward and midfield roles when Darcy took over on ball.

Midfielder Caleb Serong will captain the side in skipper Alex Pearce’s absence.

Aish, Draper and Sharp have been named as emergencies.

Sunday’s fixture marks the end of a three-game stretch at Optus Stadium for Fremantle.
