Defender Jess Low will miss Fremantle’s RAC Derby clash this Sunday at Fremantle Oval, after experiencing delayed concussion symptoms following the Round 4 match against Sydney on Sunday.
AFLW High Performance Manager Tom Sutherland ruled Low out of this weekend’s game after entering concussion protocols.
“Jess got through the game well, and then she unfortunately developed delayed concussion symptoms, so we’ve (placed) her into concussion protocols,” Sutherland said.
“She won’t be available this weekend.”
In positive news, All Australian defender Emma O’Driscoll could make a return this week after missing Sunday’s clash with Sydney due to a concussion sustained in Round 3 against North Melbourne.
“Driz (Emma) is tracking really well, so if she gets through training this week, she’ll be available to play,” Sutherland said.
Defender Madi Scanlon recovered from her ankle injury she sustained in pre-season, however will unfortunately be unavailable for the coming weeks with a new quad injury.
“Madi’s had a moderate quad injury just in the late stages of her ankle return to play,” Sutherland said.
“She’ll be three to four weeks away unfortunately.”
The Club also has a clearer timeline on Áine Tighe’s return to play from her ACL injury, with the key forward ticking off boxes that should see her available in the late stages of the season.
“Áine’s been progressing really well,” Sutherland said.
“We’re hoping to see her (available) in another five weeks, so we’re estimating around the round 10 mark.”
