Veteran ruckman Aaron Sandilands will make his return when Fremantle take on Sydney under lights at Optus Stadium on Saturday, however captain Nat Fyfe has come out of the team due to an infection in his right elbow.

Sandilands is one of four inclusions for the clash, joined by defenders Griffin Logue and Taylin Duman, and midfielder Brett Bewley.

Ryan Nyhuis, Ethan Hughes and Travis Colyer have been omitted for the clash, joining Fyfe out of the lineup.

Fremantle general manager of football Peter Bell said that Fyfe required treatment in hospital for the infection.

“Nat required a short stay in hospital to treat an infection in his right elbow via an antibiotic drip,” Bell said.

“Unfortunately, due to the recovery period required, Nat will not be available to play against Sydney on Saturday.

“Our medical staff will continue to monitor Nat’s progress to determine a return to playing time frame as soon as possible.”

Sandilands made his AFL return in RAC Derby 50 in round 16 and the 36-year-old was managed for Freo’s trip to Launceston face Hawthorn.

Bewley comes back into the starting 22 after a strong performance for Peel, with 27 disposals and seven inside 50s against East Perth.

Duman, who has played eight games for Fremantle this season, travelled with Fremantle as an emergency for the clash against Hawthorn.

Hughes, Colyer, Lachie Schultz and Mitch Crowden have been named as Fremantle’s emergencies for the clash.

Meanwhile, Sydney have made four changes. Robbie Fox, Hayden McLean, Ryan Clarke and Ryley Stoddart have come in for Kieren Jack, Harry Cunningham, Jordan Dawson and Ben Ronke.
