Captain Alex Pearce will play his 150th AFL game in Fremantle’s Round 15 clash with Geelong.
During the Club’s Stealth Round clash with Geelong at Optus Stadium, captain Alex Pearce will reach the milestone of 150 AFL games for Fremantle.
Selected with pick No.37 in the 2013 National Draft, the now 31-year-old will become just the 24th Fremantle representative to play 150 or more AFL games.
Pearce will join Luke Ryan (190 games) and Andrew Brayshaw (183 games) as current Fremantle players to have achieved the feat.
Twice in his career, Pearce has finished a season (2022, 2023) with the most ‘one percenters’ recorded in the Club’s top 20 of all time, depicting his unwavering attitude as a pivotal pillar in his key defensive lockdown role for the team.
When Nat Fyfe stood down as captain in 2023, Pearce was voted into the role by his teammates, becoming just the 10th man to lead Fremantle for an AFL season or more.
A proud Palawa man from Tasmania, Pearce also became the first Indigenous Fremantle captain, and just the eighth in AFL history, joining Graham ‘Polly’ Farmer (Geelong), Gavin Wanganeen (Port Adelaide), Michael Long (Essendon), Chris Johnson (Brisbane), Adam Goodes (Sydney), Steven May (Gold Coast) and Jy Simpkin (North Melbourne).
Pearce has been endorsed as captain every year since, highlighting the respect, leadership and gratitude he embodies and instils in his side.
In 2015, Pearce was awarded the Beacon Award at the Doig Medal Presentation Dinner for the most promising young player after a stellar debut season which saw him play 13 senior games.
In 2020, again on Doig Medal night, Pearce won the Best Clubman Award for his on and off-field contributions. In consecutive seasons in 2024 and 2025, Pearce claimed the Players’ Award for his ability to lead and unite the group on and off field.
When he takes the field against the Cats, marking his 150-game milestone, the key defender will become eligible for Life Membership with the Club.
Here’s to 150 games of our captain, Alex ‘Moose’ Pearce.
