Following his addition to Fremantle's leadership group, Caleb Serong was interviewed on Triple M Rush Hour and 3AW about his personal and team aspirations for 2022.

He told Triple M that the group was ready to start delivering on the 'potential' tag.

“The last four or five years we’ve turned to youth and tried to really draft well and get good, young characters in with a lot of talent,” Serong told Triple M.

“Over the last year or two, we’ve been able to see the potential of the group, but I think at this stage we’re at a point where we’ve had enough of hearing that word ‘potential ‘and what we could achieve and how good we could be.

“For us, we just want to win games for the Freo footy club and play in big games.”

Speaking to 3AW, Serong was put in the hot seat by Gerard Healy in a light-hearted back and forth.

HEALY: I've tried this question once before tonight, how many games do you think you need to win to reach your pass mark? You won 10 games last year, you missed the finals by one game. What's the pass mark for wins for Fremantle?

SERONG: I don't want to set a ceiling on it...

HEALY: I don't want a ceiling, the ceiling is the premiership. What is the pass mark?

SERONG: To be honest, I know you're trying to get a number out of me, but I can't give you that!

HEALY: Why can't you give that? You're the second person tonight who won't answer this simple question.

SERONG: Because we want to win every game Gerard, we're not settling for a 13-game win season because we want to win every game.

HEALY: Hang on, we've got a number!

SERONG: We're here to play finals, we're here to win a Grand Final.

HEALY: There we go, don't worry, I like that answer!

Serong was also asked if he had captaincy aspirations in the future but the 21-year-old was eager not to get ahead of himself.

"I think at this stage I'm just really excited to be welcomed into the leadership group as voted by the players," Serong said.

"I just want to keep learning, we have senior guys like Nat Fyfe and David Mundy who have been doing it for a long time and then younger guys like myself and Andy Brayshaw, and Alex Pearce who has been there for a few years now.

"We have a good mix of guys in the leadership group who can set the standards and keep helping this Club move forward."
